68. Grarg, Monsters!

I got my monster business/moo card case in the mail today. It's awesome. My moo cards fit in one side along with my bus tickets, and my business card fit on the other side. It's perfect! It's also bigger than what I used to carry all of those things in, which I used to loose in the outer pocket of my Namaste bag. I'm hoping that I wont loose this one in my bag. It's also kick ass to boot.

And now for your listening pleasure, may I present....um, these guys. It's hilarious. I love it because it's Nova Scotian.

67. Skittles Vodka

We did it! We managed to actually make Skittles Vodka. It took a fair bit of time to strain (thank you Belle for straining it while we went downtown) but it came out great. I only tried the Lime and the Lemon, and I'll admit that I'm not a straight liquor kind of person, so taking a shot of Lime while still trying to taste it almost made me gag. It was good though. I tried the Lemon with a bit of No-Name-Sprite-Like product and it was pretty good. Really lemon-y though. I'd love to try the others fairly soon, but I'm not sure when we'll get around to it. All in good time.

66. Downtown Drinking

I went downtown on Saturday night, hence why there was no Saturday post, but I'm posting now. Better late then never, eh?

It was for a birthday of a friend I knew in Elementary school. She moved away, but came back recently. She now is doing Paralegal Studies with my mister. Small world. There were 5 of us for most of the night, but before we left we met up with another friend from Elementary school. It was great to see them again, and I think I might try to organize something with the gang from back in the day. We all had so much fun together, even right up to High School, the only thing is that quite a number of them have gone away to University or are gone working somewhere. Oh well, summer break isn't that far away.

65. Because I don't have enough

I cast on the Kiri shawl tonight while watching Battlestar, which by the way was not a huge OMG episode like I had hoped. Next week I know will be awesome though. In any case, I cast is on and I'm almost halfway through the first chart. I'm using some Lizard Toes from Cables and Lace (which I LOVE). This one is black with small repeats of a deep royal blue and a rich dark purple. It is amazing. I haven't worked on the quilt, I worked very little on the green/grey sock, and everything else is sitting by the wayside. I have far too many things on the go, and with the addition of needle felting, I think I might get quickly bogged down with all of this. I really don't care though, I like being busy.

My Aunt got a ball winder in the mail today. We wound up three skeins of my yarn I had brought with me to show her. We don't have a swift though, so it was interesting having to hold the yarn and get it to come off my hands evenly so as to not get really loose balls that were too big and got caught in the gears, or balls that were too tight and squished the stuff in the middle. We managed to get it going good though. I'm excited. No more hand winding anything for me.

64. And yet, Another addiction

Felting or fulling, whatever you call it, it's still making the wooly fibers stick together without glue. I have fulled yarn before, I have wet felted before, I had never dry felted or needle felted. Considering that the needles are sold at my LYS for $2.50 a pair, I decided to buy two sets (one star and one triangle, both 38's), and have a go. Right off the bat though, I took one out of it's little sleeve and proceeded to stab my thumb. It only bled a teeny tiny little bit but wow, it hurt.

I didn't start off with a flat project, I went straight for 3D. And to make it even better the body is just over and inch tall, talk about teeny tiny. I then put eyes and a nose on Miss Hedgehog, and I think I did fairly well. It also looks like it's going to stick well and wont fall off. I hope.

I'm now addicted though, good thing that my fiber stash is effing huge.
