ah yeeeees.

so I got a spindle a couple weeks back. its awesome. I spin up a top knot right away and instantly fell in love. its very slubby but its still awesome. theres only 45 yards so I dont know what I'm going to make with it. I might take the skein and try to re-spin it? i dont know. ive been doing some light copworth stuff I got from the loop and it has been doing great things. Ive got two skeins of 65 yards each of a heavy worsted weight. im going to try my hand at kool-aid dyeing. Ill probably go grab some today on my break. I also ordered me some rocket roving from etsy. im excited to get spinning with some merino. the copworth is kinda rough, spins up nice and drafts well, but I just want something smooth and cheap-ish.

I finished the vinlands. im working on an argyle scarf thats double knit (uncle argyle from sons of stitch n bitch)im also doing a sock in monkeypal, its the firestarters from the loopy ewe blog. but i changed where the pattern is. im also trying to finish up the clpoohtee that i started A MILLION YEARS AGOOOOOO.

I need some form of caffiene. and perhaps food. maybe Ill grab a caesar while im at the grocery store getting kool aid. mmmmm garlicy goodness. :)

oh sigh

it's been a while, and its been tiring. I'm working on a website for school...we're just using iweb on the macs at school, but still. eugh. give me a set code, and let me edit it. I much prefer it, even though I dont really understand all of the html. but still. iweb makes my brain melt. so does photoshop. and illustrator. but on a more geekery note ProTools 7.4.1 is effing amazing. they have this elastic audio thing, and im totally going way overboard with even that. but seriously. omg *drool* who will lend me fifteen thousand so that I can get me a rig of my own? come on. any takers? no? damn.

second vinnland is almost done, just under one repeat left then bind off. I'm not sure if I'm going to do the standard bind off again or if I'll try to find something stretchier. wow, that word didnt come up as wrong under spell check. wow.

I've been watching alot of Las Vegas as I knit up in my room (so the rents dont make fun of me too much) and I found a poker set I was given a couple xmas's ago, and I've been playing with the dealer, big blind and small blind buttons for like two hours now. just holding them in one hand and moving them around and around. I kinda surprised myself with my dexterity, but then I look at the freaking sock and heck yes. I am a goddess.

I also just noticed that the imacs at school seem to come up as comming from PEI cause the last couple visits were from me on them. I set the widgit (yes I AM using the term widgit, just don't get me talking about dongles) to not record visits from my laptop, but still. the imacs are in Hali, not Charlottetown. oh IP addresses. how I heart thee.

OH! I finished the second Gir and I made three cupcakes. Two of them (one blue icing and one red) will be given with the Gir's as a "I'm sorry its a late christmas present, but still love me?" thing. the third (white icing) I'm not sure what I'll do with. It may go to Shawn and Crystal's baby along with the uggs. but I'm not sure. I might make another one and get a rattle or something and put inside it so it makes noise. actually, I think thats what I'll do and I wont put a cherry ontop I'll just close the top off. sweet! baby gifts are awesome.

missing in action

so, I know its been a while, but the knitting has not been forgotten. in fact it was the other way around, the knitting had taken over my life, and blogging had gone down the tubes. lol. well, updates. bbuggs are still not sewn in, they're just sitting on top of my CD rack by my bed looking cute. i cast on and finished a Vinnland sock. the bind off is a bit tight, I might end up taking it out and trying either using a size larger needle, or trying a different cast off alltogether (yay knittinghelp.com). I ripped out the excheckered scarf I was knitting from cascade 220 heathers and wool. I dont need anymore scarves. love the pattern, and the yarn, but seriously, I've got billions of scarves. Ive been working on snuggles which are small blankets I'm knitting out of some super bulky acrylic for one of the local animal shelters. I dont know what else is up. I have started the daunting task of sewing all my badges onto my new camp blanket. I think I'll do a full post on that blanket sometime. it's awesome, and I have so many badges and crests. my only issue is that I don't think that my brownie and guide sashes will fit on the poncho type blanket Ive got going on, so I might take all of my badges off and sew them on individually....that will take forever. oh well! c'est la vie eh?

bbuggs

so, in my haste to tell my parents I had finished a pair of baby uggs, my father thought I had just stuttered saying "bugs". so these booties will henceforth be known as bbuggs. they were uber quick to make and the only thing I didn't like was the rediculous price of the suede. I might have been able to get it cheaper somewhere else, like at a big box store, but I dont even know if they'd have it.



I like them. I only have a little bit of sewing in of the ends and the laces, but even still they may only have taken about 3 hours to complete.

new year new blog

so im back at dabbling into html. Im changing my blog, but its been so long since I've been using html (im self taught) that Im forgetting a lot. im now remembering why i hate hex coded color systems too. but in any case, the blog is under construction, so it might look funky for a while. give me some feedback though please!
