120. The Daring Book for Girls

April 30 One of the Challenges we did a couple years ago was The Daring Book for Girls. It was real easy for the level I was working with, and I even got the crest too. It’s on my camp blanket at the moment. I’ll have to take a picture of my blanket because it is impressive. Anywhos. The Daring Book for Girls is the (obviously) female version of the Dangerous Book for Boys. They each include tidbits of information that every kid (aged 8 to 80) should know. I got my dad the Pocket Dangerous Book for Boys: Things to Know, and I also picked it up for the Mister for his birthday which is tomorrow. (Happy birthday mister!) I picked up the Pocket Daring Book for Girls: Wisdom & Wonder, and I love it already. I’ve learnt the three types of galaxies, and bits about female pirates, and more but I’m only 50 pages in. I want to pick up the Original Daring Book for Girls, and all the other ones too. As a Girl Guide Leader the resource will be amazing, plus I love the old school look to them. the spine is even faded a bit. I love the charm of old books.

118. Sorry I stole it.

April 28

I’m sorry I stole people’s blogging mojo, and I apparently also stole people’s energy. Ever since I started doing my 365 Project, people seem to have dropped off the blogging scene. I do see the occasional post from my favourite bloggers, but they’re not nearly as frequent as they used to be. I do agree to some extent with La Belle that Social Media sites such as Twitter and Plurk have made people into Micro-bloggers rather than the standard bloggers they used to be. But I also agree with My (other) Boyfriend George Stroumboulopoulos that social media has gone from “I have and idea, allow me to explain it fully to you” to “Here’s a thought.” There is an art to Twittering and Plurking, but well, to quote someone (I have no idea who, I don’t even know where I heard it) “No one writes letters anymore.” What was the last email you got? Mine was “Got 2 faxes: *insert titles here*. Who’s are they?” That was the entire email. When was the last time you got a letter via snail mail? When was the last time you even got a fully formed letter via email? It was Christmas for a fully formed email for me, even though the mister doesn’t paragraph, there was still content, and length. My Great Grandmother was a school teacher, and even at 85 her handwriting was impeccable, and her use of grammar and spelling was stellar. I can’t spell for beans, and my use of punctuation isn’t what it should be. But at least I acknowledge it. If there is one thing I can’t stand (and hate when I catch myself doing it) it’s slang. Cuz, Sup, u, r, 2. That sort of thing. I do use brb on occasion, but usually in a satirical way when I want to should cheesy. Unfortunately my sarcasm never comes through correctly when it comes to MSN. There’s another thing that has lead to the downfall of Communication as We Knew it.

Don’t even get me started on texting. I’ll cover THAT tomorrow.

-Cheers folks!

PS. 3.14km in 30 min. I’ll be posting my cardio stats from now on, or if I do Pilates, I’ll post how long I did the work out for. Go energy stealing!

117. I forgot what Picture I took

April 27

I took the picture, transferred it to my laptop, and then forgot what I took a picture of. Can you tell that I have a short attention span? I had meant to take pictures when The Mister and I set up the tent’s my dad took camping on the weekend that needed to be aired out, but I totally forgot. I was having way too much fun. I then cooked supper and it was amazing. Chilli Lime Chicken with Alfredo noodles, fresh broccoli and carrots. It was so good. I kind of wish I had made extras for snacking on, but I only made enough for the 5 of us. Oh well. I have mango and Lucky Charms to tide me over until I can cook again. Mmmmmm home cooking. Dad even made the joke that I wasn’t allowed to go to work tomorrow, I had to stay home and cook supper. Truthfully, I’d be okay with that. I like to cook, but I especially love to bake. Speaking of which, I want to make cupcakes. Problem is that I have no where to take cupcakes. Maybe I can make them and then bring them in to work for the folks there. I think they might just deserve them. They’re a good crew.

116. Geekdom Alert

April 26

The only thing you can’t see here is the fact that these are sitting on top of my Cassette rack. In fact, directly below these are Spice Girls, *Nsync, and a mix tape. I knit the Adipose, which really needs to have an eye job done because those are horrible. The mister made a Lego kit for the Tardis, which I changed up a little bit. My Knight Bus is also a Lego kit that I got at the advanced showing of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban when it came out when a friend of mine won tickets.

All of these are right above my bed and I love them. I’ve also got a spindle of burnt CDs, a bottle of Skyy vodka, and a couple 45s, but the Geek lives in the knit Adipose, Lego Tardis, and Lego Knight Bus. I’m awesome.

115. Aftermath

April 25

Last night was fun. Too much fun? I don’t think so. I don’t think so, but other people might have other views. Like the guy who I did shots with. Apparently he wasn’t in good shape when he got up today. I, on the other hand, was fine. I woke up the first time around 8:30, but I stayed in bed dozing off and on until about 11:30 when I just couldn’t stay there any longer. I got up and decided to make breakfast. Pancakes. They were good. As I was cooking the mister came out of his room and went into the living room. I looked in to see him not really sleeping on the sofa, but pretty nearly passed out. It was too adorable to pass up.

114. Party!

April 24

The 23rd was one of the Mister’s Roommate’s Birthday. So of course what did we do? Went out to dinner then back to Casa Del Windsor to drink and make fools of ourselves. After the people who weren’t crashing at the Castle left we broke out a deck of cards and played Asshole for a while. It was my first time playing and I liked it. It was a fun game that required strategy as well as luck. There was also a whole lot of cursing and calling each other names. It was fun.

Tyler's Birthday 025 I’m a lightweight, so after three coolers I was feeling mighty good. I broke out the Skittles Vodka and then proceeded to do 4 or 5 shots with two of the guys. It was fun. I’m very glad that I don’t get hung over though, or else I would have been in horrible shape in the morning.

113. *Nifty Name Goes Here*

April 23

Did I tell you all that I got the new Swirls t-shirt from Ravelry? Well I did. And I love it. Deep V that actually makes it look like I have more boobs than I really do, the fabric is really light, and it fits really well. My only grievance is that it is a little too sheer. I knew that when I bought it, but it’s a little too sheer for most of my liking. I’m lucky enough to have a bra the same color, so that’s fine, but when it comes to pulling it down over the top of my pants like I do with all my shirts, you can really see how sheer it is. It’s alright though. I can deal with that just to have the awesomeness that the shirt really is.

Tomorrow there probably wont be a post, but I will get pictures. It’s the Mister’s roommate’s Birthday, so we’ll be drinking. I will finally be able to get rid of my current fridge stash of booze, and I’ll bring what’s left of my Skyy too.

-Cheers folks!

112. Brusha-Brusha-Brusha

April 22

I donated blood today, so I was at the mall. I know that those two things don’t seem to go together, but they do. CBS (Canadian Blood Services) sets up a mobile unit at the big local mall, and I got an appointment to donate. I’ll save you the gory details (my vein was small and was pumping real slow), but it took well over an hour from sign in to cookies & juice time. I think that I was actually giving blood for at least 15 minutes. The girls were all talking to me and kinda looked concerned, but nothing came of it. I think I might have gotten a bit pale at one point because one of the ladies came over and was taking my pulse after the needle came out and I was just sitting there, I felt fine though. My duty has been done until June, I have helped save 3 lives.

While I was waiting for my appointment time, I popped into Zellers to look at make up brushes. I found one that I liked, so I bought it. It’s really neat because there’s an inner collar that pops up to hold the bristles together, and then an external cover goes on top of that to protect it all. I tried it out when I got home and instantly I was reminded of Dance Recitals back in the 90s. Back when mom would let me wear a little bit of blush and even some lipstick. I was going to be on stage after all. It never ceases to amaze me how connected scents and memories are.

111. Knit, knit, knit, knit, repeat.

April 21

I’m working on a secret project for some people. I can’t say much. All that I can really say is that they will be well used and full of knit stitches.

Tomorrow is Earth Day! I’m going to wear green and give red. Blood that is. Might mean that I’ll be home before 6! Woooo, what a concept. I’m just surprised that I was finding myself getting really excited when I could work out all the calculations that needed to be done on the spreadsheet I had spent two days making. I might have also color coded it… I have too many highlighters… No. you can never have enough highlighters. And pens. I so love my uniball pens. I even found a box of purples ones in the stationary cabinets. I might have taken two already. I also just found out that you can follow Uniball on Twitter. I now need to go find Post-It on twitter. Or Sharpies. I’ll take either.

110. Burn Baby Burn

April 20

Remember that incense I bought? I got a wooden burner today while I was out and I burnt some of it tonight. It’s a tad smokey in my small room, plus I don’t think I really let it burn long enough to give off all of it’s scenty goodness. My folks don’t know that I have incense, and I’m not sure how they’d take to me burning it in my bedroom. I’ll take a nice long bath sometime this week and burn some then. I wont be all self defence riddled then.

-Cheers folks!

109. Socks!

April 19

I’m coming along well with my Noro Socks. I have weighed them, and I’m going to use about 45 grams of Noro for each sock, with the black Kroy at the toes, heels, and cuff. I’ll probably end up doing a fairly substantial cuff because there isn’t much left of my allotment of Noro for this sock. I think it’ll still look pretty cool, even if the socks end up being very fraternal. I’m fine with that though. I’m finding that I have a pretty hefty calf, the increases don’t begin to cover my calf yet, even though I’m a bit over what the pattern was calling for. Doesn’t much matter to me. I’ve never been one to follow a pattern to a T. I’m good to improvise as I go.

108. Spring has Sprung

April 18

Do you see that? That’s me. In a sweater. Outside on the Commons in Halifax. Sun is shining. Grass is turning green. Doing a cartwheel. Today was awesome. Allow me to lay out my day for you.

11:00 –> Got out of bed, ready to go out for the day.

12:00 –> Got on a bus to get to the mister’s house (Chez Windsor)

12:45 –> Bought supplies for English Muffin pizzas. English muffins, cheese, tomato sauce, and hot dogs. Am I the only one who uses hot dogs and not sandwich meat?

1:00 –> Arrived at Chez Windsor to find three hung over people wishing I weren’t so bright eyed and bushy tailed. Made English Muffin Pizzas. Ate pizzas. Watched some TV. Hung out.

4:30 –> Left Chez Windsor to meet up with The Mister’s sister and her boyfriend for dinner. It was a beautiful day so we walked.

4:45 –> Did cartwheels on the Commons. Loved the sun and the warm weather (14 degrees Celsius!)

5:00 –> Met the Mister’s sister and her bf for supper. We went to the Rock Bottom Brewery (below Your Father’s Moustache). I had the Panini club, it was really good. Good time had by all.

6:30 -> Left Rock Bottom, got Dairy Queen sundaes to eat on the way back to Chez Windsor.

6:54 –> Finished my sundae, took pictures of The Mister while we were walking through the Commons once again.

Spring

Also took pictures of the Armoury across the Commons. Such a beautiful building.

Spring (2) 8:30 –> Played Trivial Pursuit with The Mister and La Belle. I was loosing hard right off the bat. I was the gnome, La Belle was the Record and The Mister was the red boot. It was probably the first time in at least ten years that I had played Trivial Pursuit, first time for sure playing the pop culture one.

Spring (3) 9:20 –> I WON! I was very excited to win. Perhaps a little too excited. The Mister gave me a look. It has been dubbed the looser look.

Spring (4) La Belle declined making any comments.

Spring (5)10:00 –> Left Chez Windsor to go home. A Wonderful day was had by all.

-Cheers folks!

PS. I’m using the Auto Linking feature on Live Writer. That’s why La Belle is getting linked so much. I type her name and it automatically links to her blog. I also have Live Writer, LnV and Ravelry set up. I shall do more later. I’m loving this program a little too much I think.

107. Poker Anyone?

April 17

I would love to say that I’m still drunk and that’s why this post wont have much substance, but that’s not the case. I had a couple (2) drinks (coolers, 5.3%), but that was enough to make things a little fuzzy and me even more tired than I already was. It didn’t help any that while playing three of them were on the sofa, I was in the big comfy chair, and only two people were in hard chairs. It was a good night though. No money exchanged hands, and it’s a good thing because I lost both rounds fairly early. I’m not a great poker player. Plus the people I was playing with were very erratic, making it hard to bet against them. Though I did reveal someone’s move. He gets pompous by taking a pot without competition and then shows his cards, letting me find his tell. I never did though. Oh well.

106. Spring is here!

April 16

The crocuses are out in our garden! Spring is here! Even though I’ve had the scrape the car windows a bit for the past three mornings, I think winter has finally left the building. That’s both good and bad:

Good Bad
No more winter coats No more plaid jacket

I can go outside with only sneakers

No more excuses to wear the clodhoppers
Kids we be outside playing Kids will be outside playing
Spring/Summer sports will start Another year with no skiing

I’m really only upset about the last one, but seeing as I haven’t gotten out the past couple years it’s not a huge thing, just a little bit of a let down… again. Oh well. The flowers will be in bloom, the Public Gardens will once again become gorgeous, and I can eat lunch while sitting on the boardwalk. Mom and I will probably go down to Sailor’s Memorial to eat lunch some days like we did when the weather was nice. The Mister and I will do some lunches downtown, I’m thinking we need to do the warehouse place, I can only remember the pub’s name though, Tug’s Pub. Waterfront Warehouse! That’s the one. lol. Little brain fart there. They have a really nice patio on the back facing the tugs and the harbour.  I also can’t wait to wear flip flops, shorts, and maybe even the odd skirt.

I hope the weather stays like this for a little longer, or gets better. I’ll take either one.

-Cheers folks!

105. It Stinks Good

April 15 I’m a scent girl. I like perfume, candles, and now incense. The thing is though that I have been corrupted by indie perfumes and soaps and scents in general, so now anything commercial seems gross. I have a fair number of vials of indie perfumes from various sources (Happy Housewife & Mythos Mixtures are my main two), I also still have some soap from Happy Housewife. Today in the mal was my incense. I got 100 sticks of 5 different scents. That’s 20 each not 100 each, that would be overkill. My scents are Blue Raspberry, Island Life, Fresh Fruit Slices, Drak, and Orgasm. I love them. I love them so much. Drak is apparently a masculine scent, and it kind of produces my last scent in me. If you know what I mean. They’re from  an etsy shop called StarShine Company. They have so many scents, and I now see that they have perfumes too. Great. I need to find a burner, although after a little searching online I think I might just find a nice glass/bowl and fill it with sand. Where I would put said glass/bowl is another story all together. Ohhhhhhh, wouldn’t a nice cocktail glass look pretty with different shades of sand layered through it. Great. The cogs are turning real fast now.

104. Mmmmmmilk

April 14

Short one tonight, I’m super tired, I wont even be knitting before I crash. That means I haven’t touched the needles at all today. It kind of makes me sad. Sad enough that I got myself a huge glass of milk. Crap. I just realized that I didn’t do up my container of fruit for work tomorrow. Oh well, I can do it in the morning. Traffic has been horrendous. it’s really annoying to just sit in traffic, especially for someone like me who tends to take the bus everywhere except work with mom. I hate looking at so many of these cars on the road that have only one person in them. How hard is it to put together a carpool? Not very. Don’t get me started on the Asshats who go through the Passenger Side drive through when they’re the only one in the car. I’ve seen people have to get out of their car to walk around to pay and pick up their order. Asshats. Grrrrr.

Quote of the day: Me “Should I use the Rum or the Vodka to sterilize the needle to get that splinter out?” Dad “Don’t waste the Rum if you’ve got vodka, duuhhhh.”

-Cheers folks!

103. Make-up Triumph

April 13

I believe that I have found a pressed powder that not only matches my skin tone, but seems to last AND look natural. I used to use Covergirl liquid foundation, but I have naturally oily skin and the CG made it worse (even the “for oily skin” formulation). I switched to Almay which is much better, even though I can’t quite seem to get the right colour, I can get real close. I then would use a CG pressed powder as a top layer to hold it all together (supposedly). I never got anywhere near decent coverage with the CG compact, plus it didn’t keep my skin from going all shiny by noon. I just went with it, and kept a compact with me for touch ups because it was a good price and a decent colour. Today I needed mascara (will be reviewing the EyeLights from CG soon) and powder. I like the Rimmel eye shadow that I have, so I decided to see if they had a powder that might be nice. I found one. The only thing that I wasn’t too keen on was that it didn’t come with a puff, and my makeup brush inventory is severely limited. So far, I like it. It covers well, and it seems to keep the shine down. We’ll see how it does at work tomorrow. I’m hoping for big things.

-Cheers folks!

102. Progress

April 12

I’ve been making quite good progress on my Noro sock. I think though that I’ll keep going in plain stockinette for longer than they did in the pattern. There isn’t much negative ease yet on my calf, so I can keep going. I did one set of increases, but I’ll keep it at that for a while. I’m about 4 inches above the heel, only 12 left to go! woooo.

Now, are you ready for a picture tour of one of my Chocolate Bunny Day Dinners? You better be.

Easter at William St (7) That’s my 4 year old cousin, she’s adorable! I was in the kitchen, just walking out to the dining room, and she ran up to me with her basket of painted eggs.

Easter at William St (5)

We had a ham, it was so juicy, and the rind was just crispy enough to still be my favourite part.

Easter at William St (43)

Easter at William St (52) Easter at William St (22)

Just like usual, we all sat at the dining room table for far too long, eating too much food, laughing too much, and telling far too many stories. Everyone was laughing, smiling, and joining in on the fun. I love family dinners.

101. Happy Easter Eve

April 11

I had my first of two Easter dinners tonight. We had a freaking huge ham with mashed potatoes, asparagus, carrots, and then strawberry shortcakes for desert. It was so good. It was also my cousin’s last night in Halifax for the year. She’s a student at Dal and managed somehow to finish all her exams before nearly all of her friends. She’s going back to Calgary tomorrow. Means I’ll be babysitting more often seeing as she wont be over in Halifax and a heck of a lot closer. I can probably just crash at the Mister’s place though, he is just down the road.

That’s my dad behind that bunny by the way. He can get a little insane around any of his brothers, especially his younger brother, which is where we were tonight. Fun times had by all.

-Cheers folks!

100. Happy Centennial to me!

April 10 Happy 100th post to me! Wooooo. I’d say that the mister and I celebrated with steak, but that was because I wanted steak a while ago, and we just got around it today. Unfortunately (obviously) I didn’t get a picture of the steak. It was sooooo good though. Very good. Two of a kind (2X 3oz Calgary steaks) with a warm buttered roll and fries.

I do apologize for the crappy quality of the picture. I was coming home from an evening with the mister and as I looked up (while I was on the bus) I saw the moon. Now, considering that you can barely see it, I’ll tell you where the moon is. See the McDonald’s arches, well just to the right of that is a small round(ish) dot. That is the moon. I thought that it was fitting that the moon was full on my hundredth day, so I took a picture with the only means I had. My cell phone. I’m sorry! Forgive me? I need to get a smaller case so that I can take my camera in my bag without taking up all the room in it. Maybe tomorrow, the mister and I are having a shopping day.

-Cheers folks!

99. Closet Monster

April 9 I think I’ve said that my room is tiny, hence storage space is limited. Well, this is my closet. Yes that is a book shelf in my closet, and a violin….and a magnetic bug on the top. The thing is, although it looks like I have lots of clothes, I wear pretty much everything in there. I think that my selection of sweaters is too ginormous though. They take up a whole lot of space. Keeping all of the boxes for everything electronic I have ever bought (including things I have since gotten rid of) tends to take up a lot of valuable space. I wish I weren’t such a pack rat.

Tomorrow will be 100! woooooo. I shall celebrate with steak. I shall also have pictures.

-Cheers folks!

98. Mail Goodies

April 8

I got my package from Ravelry today. Talk about quick shipping. This is my third package from the wonderful knitting site. These are the magnets that match my Daily Dose of Fiber shirt. I got a few other things too, including a new shirt with Bob (the cutest doggie mascot/ error code junkie) in a pile of yarn. There is a new shirt on the site now that I really want, but I don’t know if I want to order again so soon. I remember seeing a sneak peak of the shirt and loving it, but then I guess I forgot about it. :( So sad. I probably will get it though, I’m a sucker for knitting paraphernalia.

-Cheers folks!

97. Hey Birdie

April 7Today was my first BBQ of the season. The mister grilled up some steaks while I cooked veggies and fried up potatoes. It was so good. Also, to add to today’s excitement, I WON!!!! My first Roll up the Rim win this time around. I stopped counting how many I lost, but it was ridiculous. I better win on all the rest of my cups to make up for it.

My budgie, Trill. Short for Trillian. Yes, that Trillian, the cute one wit the knee high argyle socks from Hitchhikers Guide. I got her about 4 years ago, but wow the time has flown. She’s not the most vocal of birdies, but she’s an active birdy. If I leave the cage open while I’m in the room she crawls all over it, but she wont ever come right to me, nor will she stay on my shoulder. When mom’s around she’s a little skiddish, they never really have much contact, so it’s understandable. She doesn’t like dad either, but she will come to him when he puts his hand in her cage. My brother doesn’t come near her unless she’s on her perch on my mirror. I don’t know why, but that’s how it is.

-Cheers folks!

96. Strip Stripes

April 6

So, remember how I said I had cast on for a Noro sock? Well it got frogged, and then I started again, but this time I am going to manually stripe the yarn. I’m liking the feel of the yarn more and more as it gets worked, and I have to admit that the yarn I salvaged from my old Noro Sock that I never made a mate for, it’s super soft. I can see these being awesome socks. I just need to actually follow a pattern (such as the Basic Knee Sock Pattern is).

I’m not going to put the number and date on the photos anymore. I’ve got the date in the file name, and the number in the blog title, so I’m good. This will also mean that I wont need two copies of each picture, one for the 365 folder and one for my photos folder. Gotta love saving space.

-Cheers folks!

95. Rawr, Sharks.

April 5

We had my little cousin’s first birthday party today. I can’t believe the Munchkin is already 1. I went out with mom and dad when they went to get him a present but I had no idea what I wanted to get him. We went into a kids store, I saw those boots and I had to get them for him. They even have handles on the top like Firemen’s boots do so that he can pull them on easier. They’re way too big for him right now, but he’ll grow into them. We’re also in Nova Scotia, so there will be no shortage of rainy days.

-Cheers folks!

94. Hello, This is Technical Support

I’m just going to say this right off the bat. I opened up Windows Live Writer, closed it, opened it again, sent an email, and then stared at my laptop because I had completely forgotten what I was doing. I remember now, but I was clueless.

April 4

I’ve broken out my Noro Sock again. This time I’m going to make tow ups with Black Kroy for the toes, heels, and cuffs. But I’m not going to stripe them, I’ll just let the colors fall as they may. I started them using the Noro itself for the toes, but then I dropped a couple wrapped stitches and after fighting for two minutes to pick them up, I gave up and said screw it. I think I might finish the toe while I’m watching a movie tonight, even though I should go to bed because I’m exhausted. But I wont, Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke will keep me company. (I’m watching Mary Poppins by the way)

The Mister and I went out for dinner with his sister and her boyfriend tonight. On our way to the restaurant, we saw this in a shop window:

DR Who Love

That’s right my friends, Ten! and his TARDIS. I stopped and just pointed, it took the mister a little while to figure out what I was pointing at, but when he did his reaction was pretty much the same as mine, flabbergasted. You just don’t see Doctor Who around here, now that I think about it we should have gone in. It was a little bookstore pretty much downtown. Damn, I wish I had gone in, even just to be able to say that I was in the same building as the Doctor.

The Windows Live Writer experiment is going wonderfully. I’ve been in touch with one of the writers who is helping to fix my photo issue. I definitely recommend the  program to anyone who blogs fairly often, especially anyone who blogs on Blogger. I hate that you only get a teeny tiny little box to work in, I have 14” of LCD real estate and I’d like to use it Thank You Very Much. I also just noticed the “Set Publish Date” option which will let me actually have a post on every single day instead of whenever I post. Sometimes it gets late and my post doesn’t get up till after midnight, so it says that it’s for the next day, but really it’s not. It’s all a lie. Just like the cake.

-Cheers folks!

93. New Shoes

April 3

I got new shoes today. Finally. Good old Zellers eh? They weren’t too expensive, and they' look awesome I think. I love the plaid insert. I’m a huge plaid person. I still want to find the Burton Mocha Plaid pants that match my jacket from the 05/06 season (I think it was that season). the pants were nearly impossible to find back then, and now it’s even worse. I do need a new jacket though, my plaid is (sadly) starting to fall apart. Maybe this year I’ll get a full kit rather than just a jacket, the pants I have right now suck anyways. Damn. I wish I had gotten out on the hill this year, it never worked out for me though.

-Cheer folks!

92. That’s not a knife…

April 2

Tonight was night 2 of cookie selling and I am so glad that it’s over. I’m so tired. Getting up tomorrow for work is going to be so hard. Today was bad enough. Hopefully though I’ll sleep better tonight. In any case, my pocket knife came in handy again tonight, which made me think about my real nice knife that I got at Conference in 2007. It’s a nice hefty knife that’s got a good blade on it. I’d be proud to pull it out at dinner if a steak knife weren’t enough, go all Constable Benton Fraser on my food’s ass. Damn. Now I want steak. Or lobster, but preferably steak. you know it’s a good craving when you can taste your favourite marinade in your mouth. mmmmm. Wanna go for steak sometime mister?

I’ve been meaning to mention that I’m using Windows Live Writer for my posting recently. I’m finding it much easier to work with except pictures never want to work for me. I can do it, but it requires a little manual tweaking on my part. S’all good though. You guys make sure to let me know if something isn’t going right.

-Cheers folks!

91. I’m a Leader

April 1

Today is the first of April. April fools day right? Not in my mind. April 1st marks the first day that we’re allowed to sell Girl Guide cookies. So tonight was our first of two Cookie Blitzes. We all meet at the church were we all hold our regular meetings, and then we send the girls out door to door (with adult supervision of course) to sell cookies. When I was a girl member we always had extremely horrid weather on our Blitz nights. I can remember selling cookies while it was snowing. Snowing hard. We had one group send someone back about an hour after they left because they needed more cookies, but we also had a group come back with more than half of what they left with. It will never cease to amaze me that no matter what cookies we’re selling it seems like more than half the people say “Oh, I really like the other ones so much better”.

Oh yea. That is a toadstool name tag with my Brownie name above my GGC name tag with my real name on it. I love it. I wear that sweater to work every once in a while and quite often I’ll forget about my name tags until someone mentions them in the middle of the afternoon. It always makes me laugh. I think I might wear my “Ask me about Girl Guide Cookies” pin tomorrow and Friday. Hmmmm, I likes the sound of that.

-Cheers folks!
